Eileen Santos, CPA
Eileen has worked in the
areas of international tax and human resource consulting for over 11 years.
She currently owns and operates Lighthouse Tax & Consulting (LTC), an
organization dedicated to providing high value, personalized solutions to
clients in the areas of individual tax, cross border issues and
international program management.
Eileen has developed a
comprehensive and proven process to assist companies evaluate their program
needs and proceed through such issues as internal globalization, change
management and the selection of a new vendor. She aids global organizations
in the development and review of tax equalization policies and provides
year-end solutions aimed at gearing up for tax season and compensation
collection, with a focus on how to minimize overall vendor costs. Eileen
also provides comprehensive tax compliance and planning services for
domestic and international individuals.
Prior to establishing LTC,
Eileen worked for 10-years at Arthur Andersen. During her career at
Andersen she worked with both the international assignment group (IES) and
the personal client services team (PCS). With IES, Eileen assisted
companies in defining and implementing global compensation strategies, assignment
policies and tax saving solutions. She helped to coordinate the tax
compliance, consulting and administration of many significant global
engagements, while providing them with cost-effective tax planning and
compliance services.
Within the PCS arena,
Eileen worked with high net worth individuals and families to minimize
overall taxes, resolve IRS inquiries, develop gift and estate plans and
ensure compliance with all related and generally complex tax matters.
Eileen also served as a
Vice President in Clark/Bardes Consulting’s Human Capital Practice. At CBC
she aided in the development of their International Employment Solutions
Group, dedicated to providing end-to-end consulting solutions for companies
with global workforces.
In addition, Eileen works
as an adjunct professor at Fairfield University, and is currently teaching
graduate level tax courses as part of their MBA offering. She has also
served as a faculty member for Andersen’s HC Academy in St. Charles,
Illinois; and has been a frequent public speaker on a wide variety of topics
such as maximizing foreign tax credit usage, payroll compliance, tax
equalization policy matters and successfully navigating the expatriate
process.
